Dave "Turkey" Wendle Alton - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dave (Turkey) Wendle, 72 on Monday, August 19, 2024. He was born Apr. 26, 1952, the son of Aloysius F. "Ollie" and Anna Mae (Fessler) Wendle. He married, the love of his life, Becki Stilts-Stoeckel Oct. 14, 2015, and she survives. At 18, he joined the Army. For many years after that, Captain Dave worked on the river as a deck hand, as a first mate, and a pilot for Norman Brothers. He retired as a Captain from the Alton Belle Casino. In addition to, Beck, he is survived by a daughter, Holly (Dave) Ahlemeyer, of Brighton; two sons Jason (Missy) Wendle and Jacob (Stephanie) Wendle, both of Godfrey; stepsons Nick and Nathan; grandchildren, Ashlynn, Olivia, Ben, Colton, Parker, Merrit, Chloe, Claire, Chase, Drayke, Karson, Braxtyn, Kash, and Eli; a great grandson, Oliver; a sister, Dianna (Tony) Baker of Alton; two brothers, Ronald (Roberta) Wendle of Independence, MO and Gary Wendle of Maryland Heights, MO; many ni
