LaVerne Neumann Dateline: Bethalto, Illinois LaVerne M. Neumann, 90, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Gillespie Nursing and Rehab, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 16, 1933, in Wood River, IL, the daughter of Samuel A. and Helen A. (Massa) Hunter. She married Walter T. Neumann on August 14, 1954, in Bethalto. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2019. LaVerne was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Cottage Hills. She was on a woman's bowling league and enjoyed camping, shopping, playing pinochle, drinking ice cold Pepsi, and traveling. LaVerne loved to spend time with her family and friends. Survivors include her children, Tammy (Bob) Masiero of Gillespie, and Pamela (Gary) Sanner of Bunker Hill; six grandchildren, Kayla (Justin) Boesing, Brent Masiero, Ashley Masiero, Megan (Matt) Berry, Eric Sanner, and Andrew Sanner; and six great-grandchildren, Ava, Piper, Hayden, Avery, Theo, and Jovie.
